Lovely location, comfy rooms (although they are slightly tired and in need of some TLC). Really excellent staff and they deserve credit for everything they do -- but it's clear that Premier Inn are cutting corners with staff numbers and running the hotel with the bare minimum.

Well located for Malham and other local attractions. Reception staff were super friendly, and the young waiter in the restaurant was great. Rooms are clean with good beds. Negatives were the non-opening windows. Rooms ended up being very stuffy. Also, the restaurant had quite an unloved feel about it. The menu is what it is, but if you can't even put the advertised sliced chilli and spring onions on the nachos, everything ends up looking very beige and gloopy. Seems like there is a blind spot on cleaning the outside too. Even if there isn't a budget for a makeover, someone could at least show it some love by running a cloth over the entrance doors, and cleaning the litter from the planters outside. Oh, and the WiFi - the basic WiFi is shocking, and they want you to upgrade to their 'premium' service. I resent being milked for decent WiFi - like comfortable beds, this should just be a basic requirement for all hotels. The rating would have been a 3 star if not for the reception staff.

We have stayed at many Premier inns up and down the country, This one is quite dated and could definitely do with a refit I don’t think it’s been updated in a long time it has no modern fittings ie usb fittings, the bathroom are clean but in need of a refurbished, the price was definitely on the lower tariff so the cost for a week was really good, we didn’t eat at the pub next door as there was other places to eat, the staff were very friendly and efficient no complaints there and the location is perfect for exploring Yorkshire and the North depending how far you want to go. Would stay again

We travelled up from Surrey & stayed at this hotel for a funeral we were attending last Friday. As we were travelling during the storm we were late getting to the hotel so I phoned to see if we could still have dinner. I spoke to Anya & she said she’d check with the chef as they were closing earlier due to the weather. She phoned back to say if we told her what we wanted to eat the chef would have it ready for when we arrived & he did! That’s customer service ! We said why we were up there & the next morning, Anya gave me a lovely note & a packet of biscuits - that was just so thoughtful & caring . Sometimes you have to look beyond what the rooms are like etc & thank the people who work there. I book a lot of hotels & especially Premier Inns & I don’t always get positive feedback from my engineers. Thank you Anya you are a credit to the hotel & also your chef !

Couldn't fault this little gem of a hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the room was exactly what I expected. Food in the pub next-door was excellent also. set in a beautiful area and would definitely like to come back

Stayed for a week over Christmas. The chef was ill one night so the Restaurant was closed so had to fend for ourselves. Having said that the Staff were all lovely, helpful and friendly, though only a small team. Had a disabled room so wet room shower etc which was great. Didn't think the beds were as good as they normally are at other Premier Inns I've stayed at. Did enjoy our stay though as near the Dales and in a nice place

Premier inn standard for room. Great bed/sleep as promised. Bathroom was a little dated. Staff were very helpful and friendly Not a complaint but just for info the pub/restaurant is ran by the premier inn and therefore only open when food is being served.

Booked this for a weekend away without checking reviews - didn’t think to check as usually premier inn has served us well. Stumbled across the reviews a few days before our stay whilst looking at the area on google maps and was quite worried about what I’d got myself into! Check in was fine and staff polite, registered car for free parking with no issues Hotel smelt fine, was expecting way worse from the reviews. Corridors a bit rough round the edges and probably in need of a refurb but wouldn’t have noticed if not for reading reviews prior to arriving Room was clean, warm and well kept was a newer style room which we weren’t expecting. Bathroom a bit tired likely due to no ventilation but no signs of mould or damp in the - maybe we got lucky with our room Didn’t eat at the restaurant used the chippy and the curry house both lovely and pubs were great too Total for the stay was £80 for 2 nights (February 2026) probably wouldn’t pay any more than that but was a pleasant stay and not at all like the reviews atleast in our experience.
